Obituary for Sossia Conti (Sossia Conti)

In celebration of Sossia Conti, the true definition of the American Dream. Sossia was born in Rocca d’Arce, Italy to a large, loving family; however, she had an ever-lasting drive to work hard and provide for her family. In search of better opportunity, she arrived in America in 1965, with her young son, Gianfranco, beside her where they joined her adoring husband, Antonio. Here, while working multiple jobs and learning the new language, they built their legacy from the ground up.

Aside from her love and devotion to her family, friends, and church, Sossia had many passions. On sunny days, you would find Sossia tending to her swarms of tomato plants growing in the garden outside in which she would later foster into homemade tomato sauce. When not using her green thumb, you could find Sossia socializing and laughing with friends and family at the local diner over a well-deserved meal, strolling around Mohegan Sun casino, or attending spiritual events. As an avid traveler, Sossia was always in search of an adventure, either escaping to explore a new country or spending time relaxing on Cape Cod with her admiring grandchildren, Alex and Amanda.

All that knew Sossia, knows how deeply she was loved and will be missed. The family will partake in a private service in loving memory of Sossia. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity that is near to the Conti’s family heart – Calvary Hospital at https://www.calvaryhospital.org/ways-to-give/.
