Phillip James Rangel of Carmel, NY passed away peacefully on June 15, 2020.
Phil was born in Emporia, Kansas on February 22, 1961 and raised in Queens, NY then moved to the Bronx, NY. Phil proudly served as a Sergeant for 20 years in the NYPD during which time he worked in the 40th, 42nd and 47th precinct.
Phil married Grace (nee Corbett), the love of his life on June 3, 1994 in the Bronx. Grace and Phil moved their family to Carmel, NY in 2008.
Phil is survived by his loving parents, Bob and Socorro Levitt, as well as his beloved sister Tracy (Brian) Huber and nephew Jason and niece Emily Huber.
Phil also leaves behind his daughters, Erica (Matthew) DeGray, Jennifer (Frankie) Gutierrez, Dr. Jessica and Erin Rangel. Loving grandfather of Liam, Riley, and Avery DeGray.
Phil was pre-decreased by his uncle/godfather Albert Rangel in 2019.
Phil leaves behind many aunts, uncles, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers.
He was an amazing Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Sergeant, Friend, uncle and coach.
A man that was taken from us too soon and will be forever missed.
