Obituary for Generoso M. "Gene" Paolello

Generoso Paolello , 89, of Bronx, New York took his last breath on Tuesday, April 14th in his home, Providence Rest.
Gene is survived by his children: Phyllis Paolello, Gene Paolello Jr., Suzette Paolello (daughter-in-law), Jodi Scarvalone, Maria Davino,
and Paul Davino (son-in-law). He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren: Taylor Paolello, Anthony “Nino” Lombardi, Alina Lombardi, and
Sebastiano Davino. Gene will be laid to eternal rest and reunited with his beloved wife Norma.

As a young man, Gene proudly served in the army as a cook. Soon after, he quickly earned the nickname "Gene the Baker" as he spent his
working years making the most delicious cakes and pastries in some of the best bakeries in New York. Whenever asked for one of his recipes, he
would usually start with, “Well you need about 60 eggs, 20 cups of sugar, and 40 lbs of cream cheese".

Gene was loved for so much more than his cakes. His generosity, humble nature, and gentle mannerisms left an impression on all those he met.
Gene was never judgmental but forgiving and accepting. He was not boastful but lived his life modestly. Gene was never selfish; he did for others
beyond his means and with a pure heart. He did not say much, but was always listening. Gene loved the company of his family, a good meal, and of
course, his Member's Only jackets. He found happiness in a good comedy show and was known to go into a “laughing fit” watching the innocence and
silly antics of animals or children. Never wanting the spotlight, he was most comfortable being in the background, watching and waiting to protect
those he loved, if needed.

Our lives will never be the same, but we will do our best to honor him by holding the same simple morals and virtues that he lived by. We were
blessed to love and be loved by this extraordinary man. He was of the finest antiques - rare and beautiful.
