Obituary for Edward Louis Globokar

Edward Louis Globokar Jr., 63, entered the kingdom of heaven on Wednesday April 22nd, 2020 due to complications with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). He was born on December 5, 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio, to Edward Lewis Globokar Sr. and Virginia Mary Grosso, where he attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America Class of 1976 in Hyde Park, New York with a full scholarship. After graduating college, he moved to New York City where he met his wife. They raised their children in Rye, New York, and retired in Stamford, Connecticut.
Eddie met his wife, Gloria Cortorreal, in 1981 at Tavern on the Green, a famous restaurant in Central Park, New York, where they both worked. He married Gloria Cortorreal on November 4, 1983. They were married for over thirty-five years, and had three lovely children together, Wayne Globokar (34), Karen Globokar-McGhee (31), and Eileen Globokar (25). After working as Kitchen Manager for Tavern on the Green for ten years, he opened his own series of Mexican Restaurants, named Mary Ann’s Mexican. He expanded to seven locations all throughout New York City and Port Chester, New York and ran them successfully for over thirty years. He worked hard and sent all three of his children to college. After graduating from the Greater Bethel Bible College, he began pastoring a Pentecostal church, Jesus Christ Our Rock, in the Bronx, New York with his wife, Gloria, for the last seven years.
He enjoyed traveling to Vermont and spending his time in nature. On warmer days, he enjoyed going out back to his garden where he grew his own fruits, herbs and vegetables. During his church ministry, he visited the sick and those in prison. He believed in giving to everyone in need. His legacy was with his faith in Jesus Christ, loyalty, and belief in the importance of God. Eddie took pride in his love of gardening, passion for cooking, serving others, and preaching the word of God.
“I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭20:35‬ ‭

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:1-3‬
