Obituary for Elizabeth McCarty (Elizabeth Bisceglia)
Elizabeth (Betty) Bisceglia McCarty, 90, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2020 in Linwood, New Jersey. Betty was born on November 3, 1929 in Harrison, New Yorked and resided there most of her life.
Betty was pre-deceased by her husband James in 2000.
She is survived by 9 children: Mary (Juan), James (Martha), Jane, Patrick (Sharon), Kathryn (Joel), Nancy, Vera (Jay), Teresa, and Susan (Brian). She had 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Marco.
She was pre-deceased by her sisters: Arcangela, Mary, Frances, and Rose; two brothers: Jerry and Michael.
Betty was a graduate of Harrison High School and White Plains School of Nursing. She worked for many years in local nursing homes, including King Street, Sarah Neumann and the Osborne.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 15 from 3-7 at the Harrison Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 16 at 11 am at St. Gregory the Great Church in Harrison.
Betty was a devout Catholic throughout her life and was a parishioner at St. Gregory the Great church. Betty had a profound love and dedication for her faith. No doubt she was granted her greatest wish when she met God and was embraced with “Well done good and faithful servant.”
