Obituary for Nicholas Di Vito

Nicholas  Di Vito
Nicholas DiVito died peacefully at the age of 93, at his home in North Palm Beach, Florida on October 30, 2019.

Nicholas (Nick) DiVito was born in Harrison, NY to the late Nicholas and Angelina DiVito, on July 31, 1926. Nicholas attended Harrison schools. He married Rae (née Leserra) on June 5, 1949, in St. Gregory the Great Church in Harrison, NY. Nicholas and Rae DiVito were married 50 years until she passed away on January 29, 2000. He was a proud veteran of WWII and served in the U.S. Navy.

He was predeceased by 2 brothers and 3 sisters; Antoniette Landi, Angelo DiVito, Gene DiVito, Mary DiVito and Yolanda Tarascio.

Nicholas is survived by his devoted children: Sandra DiVito-Dionisio (Louie) of Harrison, NY, and Nicholas DiVito III of North Palm Beach, FL., 2 grandchildren: Rick Dionisio (Michael) of Larchmont, NY and Audra Dionisio of Harrison, NY. 5 great-grandchildren: Alexis, Arianna, Ava, Jayden, and Jeremy, with many nieces and nephews.

He was an avid reader of military history, a big sports fan and he enjoyed music from the ’40s and ’50s but most of all he loved being surrounded by his family.

Wake services will be private.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at St. Gregory the Great Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org)
