Obituary for David Teelucksingh

David Teelucksingh
My father Rev. David Teelucksingh was born on the 21st May 1938 to James and Eleanor Teelucksingh. He was the oldest of four children; O’Brien, Ivan and Toya. He attended school at Bonne Adventure and Grant Memorial Presbyterian schools. My father was a very hard working man, I have never known him to relax or take it easy. Before the age of 21 he worked at the San Fernando Borough Council, the sugar cane and rice fields and the Trinidad public transportation service. At the young age of 21 he enlisted in the Trinidad and Tobago Police force, and after many years of service he retired having attained the rank of acting sergeant.
In 1960 he met Rosalyn and they got married a year later. They had 3 kids Franklyn, Jacqueline and Alice. My dad really loved Jesus Christ. He was saved and baptized in 1978, and was ordained as a pastor in 1984 under Bro. Wilson’s J.D.C ministry. He eventually went on to pastoring his own church at Faith Holiness Mission. If it was up to my dad he would not have missed a church service. I have always know him to be at church on a Sunday morning and at prayer meeting on a Wednesday evening.
In 1985 his wife Rosalyn died after 25 years of marriage. He remarried in 1987 to Elsa and had one child, John Mark. In 2016 my mom died. After her death his health started to decline. In 2017 he had open heart and prostate surgeries and a stroke in 2018. On the 11th May 2019 at 11:33am, by the grace of God he passed away peacefully with out any pain at Putnam hospital, surrounded by family.
My father Rev. David Teelucksingh was a good man, a good father and a good dad. He always looked out for his children and grand children - David, Martice, Todashia and Todd, whom he loved dearly. He did his best to be there for us whenever we needed help and advice. He will be missed by all.
On behalf of my family I would like to say a heart felt thank you to everyone that supported us at this time in America and Trinidad. It’s greatly appreciated.
