John married his second wife, Marina Dushas, an attorney in 1977. They had a daughter, Noel Maria in 1981. They resided in Harrison, NY where John remained for 37 years. He loved the town of Harrison and became an active member in local politics and supported local business owners.

John was a life insurance agent for over 40 years with New York Life, and a proud member of the service organization founded by Greek immigrants, Ahepa. For over 35 years, he worshipped at the Church of Our Savior, in Rye, NY.

John is survived by his son, Dr. Yiannis (Irene) Katsogridakis, the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago in IL; daughter Despina (Adrian) Santiago, a clinical social worker at Rising Ground in Yonkers, NY; daughter Noel (Tom) Petriello, a teacher in the New Rochelle, NY school district.
